Valuations for Probate

We can value the entire contents of a home or collection, including Jewellery, Watches, Silver, Asian and Islamic Works of Art, Clocks and Instruments, Antique and Contemporary Furniture, Porcelain and Glass, Pictures, Paintings and Prints, Books, Carpets and Rugs, Toys, Memorabilia and more

We tailor the valuation to individual requirements, to assist in the completion of a probate valuation for submission to HMRC. Valuations are carried out based on open market value to comply with the IHT 407 form.

In carrying out the valuation, any specific bequests referred to in the will would be individually identified and valued.

We provide visits to properties nationwide. Catering mostly to homes in London, Winchester and the surrounding Hampshire towns and villages, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Home Counties.

We understand that time is often of the essence when it comes to probate and insurance valuations. That’s why we pride ourselves on our swift and efficient service. Our team can arrange a valuation at your convenience, with an initial visit typically scheduled within just a few days.

Our fees are competitively priced and are based on time spent on the work. A fixed fee can be agreed upon. Our fees do not attract VAT.

Valuations for Insurance

We can prepare valuations from a single item to an entire house's contents or collection.

There have been huge fluctuations in the value of art and antiques in the past few years and you can quite easily find that you are under or overinsured. An up-to-date valuation of your house contents and possessions will ensure you are in the best position in the unfortunate event of a claim. Key items of value will be identified and described in detail.

Our valuations comply with the requirements of all major Insurance Companies and Brokers. We can arrange for updated re-valuations at agreed intervals in future years so that you remain adequately covered. We offer a bespoke service so that the Inventory and Valuation are tailored to your exact requirements.

Our fees are competitively priced and are based on time spent on the work. A fixed fee can be agreed upon. Our fees do not attract VAT.

Valuation for the Court of Protection

This is a court that provides care and management of people who are unable to look after their affairs, a person for example who is suffering from a lack of mental capacity.

The valuation that we can provide will give an open market valuation of the chattels and assets in the person's home and will be produced in a formal document. The calculations in this document will enable the Deputy to complete the necessary form COP1 and or COP 1B.

Rushbrooks can arrange for the assets to be collected and sold by auction at the earliest opportunity if required to raise funds for the client's care. We can also organise a complete clearance of the property if needed so that it is ready to be put on the market. See more here
